January 8th, 2009 at 15:11:57 you couldnt be more wrong
January 8th, 2009 at 15:34:56 get you the band facts dow of course the second verse is richard manuel and i thought he sang completly different from the album and it wasnt very good
January 8th, 2009 at 15:57:55 Bette Midlers version mite be one of the most powerful performances of this song
January 8th, 2009 at 16:20:54 Eric is standing on the right and if you look close you can see Richard at the piano singing
January 8th, 2009 at 16:43:53 r ye sure it wasnt eric clapton who did the second verse?
January 8th, 2009 at 17:06:52 I agree with the "funeral". And a little more.
January 8th, 2009 at 17:29:51 If you look close you can see Manuel singing the second verse.
January 8th, 2009 at 17:52:50 Danko died in Woodstock in 1999 and Manuel died in 1986 God bless them.
January 8th, 2009 at 18:15:49 You fail.
January 8th, 2009 at 18:38:48 And after this we lost Manuel and Danko my god!!!
January 8th, 2009 at 19:01:47 It is Richard on the 2nd voice..his voice was so beautiful
January 8th, 2009 at 19:24:46 Friggen moron
January 8th, 2009 at 19:47:45 Is this a dirge? It is certainly funereal....a song which never should have seen the light of day. A man with any taste would have dumped it for the miserable drone it is. It's awful certaintly of grinding blandness is enough to make a man mad. Whom the gods wish to destroy, first they make him listen to Zimmerman.
January 8th, 2009 at 20:10:44 No, it wasn't RR and it wasn't The Hawk I think sang the 2nd verse RR couldn't sing (he harmonised or did some melody lines) Rick Danko (bass) and Levon Helm (drums) had great voices and were the lead singers Richard Manuel sang beautiful too But plz correct me if I am wrong
January 8th, 2009 at 20:33:43 I mean Richard Manuel (did the 2nd verse)
January 8th, 2009 at 20:56:42 That is the one indeed I think Garth Hudson is the music teacher and multi instrumentalist Richard Manuel has a beautiful emotional way of singing, really great
January 8th, 2009 at 21:19:41 My dad and his band sang this song when he was in prison, I guess it means a lot more for him then. ;) Great song though.
January 8th, 2009 at 21:42:40 was it not robbie robertson who sahg 2nd verse ?
January 8th, 2009 at 22:05:39 no question about it
January 8th, 2009 at 22:28:38 hahaha funny story about that. Apparently for Neil Young's own performance, he came out on stage with a large cocaine globule hanging out of his nose lol. He had to run off and take it out, and the footage was cut from the film I suppose. Just thought it was funny because of the whole high thing lol
January 8th, 2009 at 22:51:37 I think it was Richard Manuel that started the 2nd verse
January 8th, 2009 at 23:14:36 2nd verse is the keyboard guy Garth Hudson? very emotional way of singing mán, they had three great, great vocalists in The Band
January 9th, 2009 at 23:37:35 its a god damn impossible way of life
