January 8th, 2009 at 16:57:30 Waltz is moving forward on your heel. In Samba you are stepping forward on your toe and you also see that the knees are bent as opposed to the straight leg posture in waltz. I can understand that you can go up and down in waltz as well but not as pronounced as in samba I would imagine. The hip action is not pronounced as this is a box step, I guess.
January 8th, 2009 at 17:20:29 That is exactly what I was thinking - WALTZ.
January 8th, 2009 at 17:43:28 I really can't see any samba in this
January 8th, 2009 at 18:06:27 great way to learn!
January 8th, 2009 at 18:29:26 wrong man, its origins is in samba, thats why it is called samba too. Ballroom Samba is nothing but samba mixed with european dance.
January 8th, 2009 at 19:38:23 Here is your big mistake. you can clearly see that they are dancing based on the box step. The box step is the basic step of the Waltz that has its origins on the European courts on the end of the XIX century.
January 8th, 2009 at 20:01:22 Claro, concordo com você.
January 8th, 2009 at 20:24:21 da pra ver claramente no video o samba. i can see clearly on the video the samba roots.
January 8th, 2009 at 21:10:19 Samba its like Karate, there are many styles, but it always be karate from Japan.
January 8th, 2009 at 21:33:18 but its origins is brazilian.
January 8th, 2009 at 21:56:17 watch?v=Za-jol3P7Y8 there are two kinds of samba. I bet you don't dance either of them.
January 8th, 2009 at 22:42:15 All kind of samba has its origin in Brazil. It was improved by many dancers around the world, but samba at any kind is 100% brazilian.
January 8th, 2009 at 23:05:14 o samba internacional é baseado no samba brasileiro. Veja no final do clip.
January 8th, 2009 at 23:28:13 man dont say shit, dont be crazy, we are talking about samba not any other kind one. See ballroom samba on wikipedia then in english, youll see its origin is brazilian, you are wrong, dont try to make your misunderstanding right.
January 9th, 2009 at 23:51:12 The samba internacional has its origins in Brazil. You can also say that the rhythm of the saba has its origins in Africa. Or that the bossa nova has its origins on the american jazz. Search on youtube for "ballroom samba" you'll see that this style is not danced in Brazil. But it is widely danced all over the world.
January 9th, 2009 at 00:37:10 it became famous in france, and then they wrote a book teaching how to dance in france, they didnt creat anything. dont say wrogn information.
January 9th, 2009 at 01:00:09 what?hahahahaha if the origin is brazilian how come it was created by frenchers.....????????????
January 9th, 2009 at 01:23:08 Yes the origin is Brazilian. It is BASED on Maxixe from 90 years ago. It is NOT Brazilian samba or gafieira. This is an international style created by French choreographers 90 years ago and it is danced all over the world.
January 9th, 2009 at 01:46:07 Samba internacional"Esse estilo tem origem no Brasil no início do século XX.
January 9th, 2009 at 02:09:06 they say in wikipedia the origin is brazilian. até no wiki eles fala que é brasileiro.
