Israel's mass slaughter and devastation of Gaza shows its
barbarity has no limits. 600+ Palestinians are dead and 3000+
injured. Half of Gaza's one and a half million Palestinians are
children. Dozens have been killed or injured. United Nations
representatives in Gaza say the horror unleashed by Israel is
"inhuman" and the people are "trapped, traumatised and
terrorised". This is what happens when the world's fourth most
powerful military unleashes its arsenal of terror on a defenceless
people trapped in the most densely populated territory in the
world.
There have been worldwide demonstrations of anger and
outrage at the inaction of governments in making Israel stop the
carnage now. The British government -- for all Gordon Brown's
insistence that he wants an immediate ceasefire -- has been
complicit with the United States in stopping a UN resolution
calling on Israel to end the carnage.
Following last week's demonstrations, with 60,000 in London
and thousands more in cities and towns around the country, a
second emergency national demonstration for Gaza has been
called this Saturday 10 January. We will march on the Israeli
Embassy in London.
